"I could have danced all night..."

The Fall Ball was a stunning success, and introduced this marvelous tradition to a whole new generation.  E struts her tiara and tutu with professional aplomb.  The theme was "Dress as your favorite royal, on a £5 budget," but E managed to bring it in at around £3.95.  Such a bargain shopper.

Sometimes you get SO in the groove that the royal sceptre becomes superfluous.  Note also the totally brill Anglo-themed bunting, purchased at the National Gallery.

Queen H and Princess C sample some of the amazing finger foods that Thais, our wonderful cook, prepared for the Ball.

Blurry, because everyone getting down with their bad selves and a slow shutter speed don't make for crisp photos.  There was much joy and merriment at the Fall Ball.

Two very pretty "royals."  Note also the stylish (i.e., plastic disposable) champagne goblets on the mantle, and the fairy lights around the fireplace.  (The lights found their way up to C and E's bunk-bed fort in our flat upstairs--photo to follow soon.)

View from the Dining Room into the Ball Room.

Two of the students came as matchy-matchy sister missionaries.  Inspired!

The final dance of the night.  It was "In the Mood" by the Glenn Miller Band (the same song that kicked the night off.)
