We love the British Museum!
E stands in front of the Three Muses from the east pediment of the Parthenon. I talk about this piece in my class (MUSIC 201), so this shot will help the students know about size and scale. And I'm always in favor of taking pictures of my girls--E is usually the only one to cooperate.
The Rosetta Stone. That lady (who looks like a man) was there FOOORRREVERRRRR trying to take a picture with her dinky little camera, and really annoying a big bunch of us standing behind her who wanted to see the stone and, heaven forbid, take our own picture of it. But she simply wouldn't move. Total obliviot. London is full of them. (They're mostly tourists.)
At the Gallery Cafe in the BM, children eat free when the parent buys a grown-up meal. What a deal! Here E snacks on a bread roll while pretending her box of crayons is a cell phone.
The wonderful atrium of the BM. Perfect place when the weather outside is not so nice.
E admires a clockwork galleon in the Clock and Watch Gallery of the BM. We also discovered in this gallery a 2004 Sony digital alarm clock that is identical to the one in C&E's bedroom. How posh are we? We have a museum-quality timepiece in our flat!
