Darcy botched his proposal to Elizabeth Bennet right here at the Stourhead rotunda. Even I know that gagging while you try to profess your unquenchable love tends not to go over well with the ladies under the best of circumstances.
Not as handsome, wealthy, or influential as Darcy, but certainly happier at the rotunda.
